An Illinois state representative has raised a community concern to the public, saying their is strong feelings from citizens in the community that feel the Chicago police are responsible for the murders of Black adolescents in the city.
State Representative Monique Davis (D-Chicago) interviewed with WCHB- AM in Detroit Tuesday going on record saying, “I’m going to tell you what some suspicions have been, and people have whispered to me: they’re not sure that black people are shooting all of these children.” The comment outraged many officials and the Chicago police department calling the statement "absurd."
