Oprah experienced what she probably hasn't had to deal with in a long time.....racism. While the billionaire was shopping at a boutique in Zurich, she asked to see a purse she wanted to purchase behind the clerks counter.
To her amazement, the store associate told get no and the bag was too expensive for her to buy saying it was over $40,000. Clearly, this person didn't know who Oprah was. After Ms. Winfrey made three more attempts to ask to see the purse with no success, she left the store.
The encounter has received a lot of buzz internationally and domestic. The store owner made a statement saying the store doesn't condone that type of behavior and they are fair to everyone. The city of Zurich made a public announcement earlier today saying that they have nothing against Africans or Black Americans.
