Codeblack Films has teamed up with Lionsgate for distribution rights to Halle Berry's "Frankie and Alice."
Halle plays Frankie Murdoch, a woman with multiple personality disorder with co-stars Phyllicia Rashad (Steel Magnolias) and Stellan Skarsgard (Thor, The Avengers). The film was completed almost four years ago and was screened in several small theaters and was released to the press for coverage. The film received great reviews from movie buffs, but didn't make the cut to obtain a major distribution release.
Jeff Clanagan, founder of Codeblack seized the opportunity to take advantage of this powerful film, bringing its attention to Lionsgate. Codeblack is a staple in the film industry, accurately telling African American stories from unique and deep rooted perspectives.
The film will open in theaters on April 4, 2014.
