Focused on making a difference by connecting education and music, rap artist Nasir Jones has reached out to the Ivy league Harvard school.
The Hip Hop mogul announced Friday the launch of his Hip Hop fellowship by the Hip-Hop Archives and the W.E.B Du Bois Institute. According to a report by Rolling Stone, The Nasir Jones Hiphop Fellowship is the result of a major endowment from an anonymous donor who wanted Nas to be the face of the program.
Nas was invited by Henry Louis Gates, the host of PBS' current historical series The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross
'Hip-hop is important like computer science,' Nas included in his speech to class of students taping him from their cell phones.
