Former Marine, 25- year old Andrew Tahmooressi is still in the Tijuana La Mesa Prison after being arrested eight months ago for gun smuggling.
The US government has turned a blind eye to the incident and hasn't responded to the many requests from Tahmooressi mother. She is in a helpless situation and has tried everything from social media to emergency release requests to President Obama's administration.
To make matters worst, Andrew is not built for his current living situations...at all. He has tried to commit suicide twice while in jail - one described the seargent trying to scale the prison wall with coiled barbed wire and, a situation where he tried to cut his throat with a broken lightbulb.

According to the Blaze, Sen. John McCain wrote a letter to Mexican President Peña Nieto Friday over the prolonged detainment of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi.
Why is Sergeant Tahmooressi in jail?On 31 Mar, Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi was driving with his friends to go to a Mexican restaurant and accidentally missed the last exit before the Mexican border. Without the ability to turn around before he crossed the border, he proceeded to the Mexican customs post, where he explained that he missed the exit before the crossing, and volunteered that he had three US legal guns in the vehicle. After that, Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi was arrested and charged with gun smuggling into Mexico.
