Ron Finley does what every citizen does when they own property - maintain it. Thinking he was being an upright resident of Los Angeles, Finley decided one day he would plant a garden on the sidewalk in front of his home.
Obviously this action upset the city and he had to go back and forth to court. A year later, Finley won his case and started an organization in South Central Los Angeles growing gardens in anything from abandoned lots, traffic meridians and street curbs.
