Spike Lee debuts horror film on Vimeo On Demand

Spike Lee debuted his first horror film last week on video distribution site, Vimeo On Demand.  

Dropping a bone-chilling thriller about a man who studies the power of drinking blood, Da Sweet Blood of Jesus explores human beings addicted to blood.  The movie synopsis reads as follows:

Spike Lee's new stylized thriller DA SWEET BLOOD OF JESUS is a new kind of love story. Dr. Hess Green (Stephen Tyrone Williams) becomes cursed by a mysterious ancient African artifact and is overwhelmed with a newfound thirst for blood. He however is not a vampire. Soon after his transformation he enters into a dangerous romance with Ganja Hightower (Zaraah Abrahams) that questions the very nature of love, addiction, sex, and status in our seemingly sophisticated society.

Spike is known for breaking talented actors and this film is no exception.  The feature was cast with several up and coming actors:  Michael K. Williams, Felicia Pearson, Zaraah Abrahams, Elvis Nolasco, Steven Hauck, Stephen Tyrone Williams and Lauren Macklin.   

For 30 days Da Sweet Blood of Jesus can be purchased for 14.99 or rented for 24 hours for $9.99 on Vimeo On Demand before premiering in theaters February 2015.
