Robert L. Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET) and The RLJ Companies, has launched two paid channels on YouTube. Johnson, hoping to become a major player in producing targeted digital entertainment to underserved audiences by existing networks, has created British focused “Acorn TV” and Black American comedy channel “OnCue.” RLJ Entertainment was formed in October 2012 through the business combination of RLJ Acquisition, Inc., Image Entertainment, Inc. and Acorn Media Group, Inc.
