Last week Rocafella, Atlantic Records Ceo Jayz was scrutinized by fans for failing to take his product out of Barney's.
This week the Hip Hop icon is being sued by TufAmerica record label for illegal use of the song "Hook & Sling." The company says Jay used a sample without permission for his 2009 hit "Run This Town," according to several reports.
TufAmerica is known for serving papers to many Hip Hop artist in the past such as Mos Def, Bestie Boys, Damon Dash, John Legend and Christina Aguilera.
They bought the rights to "Hook & Sling," sung by Eddie Bo and produced by Al Scramuzza, in the mid-'90s. They are looking to recover damages and proceeds from JayZ, which will probably affect Kanye West and Rihanna to an extent, since both of them were featured artists on the hit.
