Spike Lee Sued for 1.2 million by Florida couple [VIDEO]

The aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting shook the country.  The tragic event divided races and made families think about their own children being put in a devastating situation.

Many individuals mock the death of Trayvon from wearing offensive costumes to posting disturbing comments on Twitter and Facebook.  The anger spread so deep from both sides, that many celebrities got involved.

Well known film director Spike Lee was one of those celebrities that displayed backlash over the Trayvon Martin shooting.  Lee retweeted from his Twitter account an address he thought was George Zimmerman's out to the public.  After a thorough investigation from authorities - the address was in fact not George Zimmerman's, but a couple from Sanford, Florida.

Spike apologized to the couple for the error and gave them $10,000 dollars for the trouble they might have endured from the public.

Apparently the money and apology wasn't enough and the couple is asking for 1.2 million dollars. Lee's attorneys filed a motion Tuesday to dismiss the lawsuit brought by Elaine and David McClain. Lee's attorneys argued the lawsuit should be tossed out since the couple reached a $10,000 settlement March 2012.

But, the couple feels the 10,000 was only good for the month of March and feel they deserve more for the months of pain and suffering after the shooting.
